I'm With the Eagle

The eagle never lost so much time as when

he submitted to learn of the crow

Ranger said in Tuesday's post (There's a Reason), the Chief of Staff of the Army Doesn't speak for him when stating that he is proud of our Army.

The Onion
now says our nation's mascot is on board: Bald Eagle Tired Of Everyone Just Assuming It Supports War. It dovetails nicely with Ranger's feelings, so we're including it for your consideration. Team Eagle and Team Ranger say, not in our name:

"Frustrated by the widely held assumption that he unequivocally endorses the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, a bald eagle said Monday that his thoughts on the conflicts were far more nuanced than many Americans might expect.

"Can we allow that country to collapse and become an al-Qaeda safe haven again?
That seems like a disastrous outcome to me, but at the same time, maybe our continued presence is just creating more terrorists in the long run. Plus, how can we work with someone as corrupt as [Afghan president] Hamid Karzai and still purport to be champions of democracy?"

"I'm not a hawk or a dove," he added. "I'm an eagle."

in the libyan fable it is told that once, an eagle, hit by an arrow, noticed the fletching which was fashioned on the shaft. he said "by our own feathers, and not the hands of others are we now stricken."

Excellent, MB.

And Hellen Keller said (perhaps in inspiration):

“As the eagle was killed by the arrow winged with his own feather, so the hand of the world is wounded by its own skill”

Gene,
If Lisa says it dovetails then it dovetails.
That's how it is here in Rangerland.
